So, things have been really picking up with the holidays and all, and so I haven't had much time for free reading. What little I DO have, I have been shamelessly squandering on Sookie Stackhouse and an excellent little treat called Nightlight, which is the Harvard Lampoon's response to Twilight.
Main characters: Edwart Mullen and Belle Goose. Eeeeeeeexxcellent.
I'm still laughing about the name "Edwart." Seriously, I'll be walking through the store, and think, "EDWART. lolololol." Or be checking someone's purchase out and think, "EDWART", and chuckle quietly to myself, and they'll give me that suspicious look out of those red-rimmed, crazy, holiday bargain hunter slits they call eyes and think to themselves that I, the evil corporate face, am getting the better of them. Or maybe they'll just think I'm nuts, but actually it's probably the former.
Anyway.
In other news, tomorrow is my 23rd birthday. People who don't know me personally or who don't care about this, you can stop reading now. People with too much time on the hands/stalkers, read on.
To make those of you older than me feel REALLY old, since I certainly don't want to feel old, I am making a list of things going on in the year I was born, 1986!:
1. First Martin Luther King Jr. Day is observed
2. The Senate begins televising its sessions
3. the space shuttle Challenger explodes
4. 58th Academy awards
5. Prince Andrew and Fergie get married
6. Ronald Reagan is President
7. Everyone's favorite: Iran-Contra!
8. A 5.7 scale earthquake destroys most of a small Bulgarian town on my birthday, the 7th! How cheery. This is right up there with Pearl Harbor and Cicero being assassinated on the 7th, albeit those weren't in 1986. Am I in the tradition of disasters?
Well, anyway, tomorrow: the anniversary of an earthquake, Pearl Harbor, Cicero's assassination, and me! Hooray!
